it for over 17 years and I love it all. It’s so important for singers to build
a strong base and then their confidence levels skyrocket automatically.” “Some of my students are total beginners, kids and teens are a lot of fun. Some
just want to nail 1 song at the office Xmas party, some students have been signed to record labels and others are in musical
theatre. I’ve had people come to troubleshoot a particular vocal problem, learn audition techniques
or even deal with chronic stage fright. I get swamped when it’s audition time for American Idol. The
variety is fantastic but the common thread with all of my students is – they sing because it makes them feel good, and
I never forget that in my lessons.”
To date, Forbsey has taught master classes in Australia, England, New Zealand and the USA (L.A & NYC).
She has coached some of the ‘IDOLS’,
has worked with acts from EMI, Warner Music, Sony BMG, and is currently working with a child star from Disney who is preparing
to cuts his first tracks. Her aim is to nurture the individuality of each voice and all lessons are tailored
to each student's goals, dreams and plans.
“Although my studio is in West Hollywood, I also have students in Australia, London, Berlin, Laguna and San Diego that I teach weekly, via SKYPE. I do weekly SKYPE lessons with a
mum who lives 20 minutes away but can’t leave the kids. A neighbor minds her children for the hour
lesson. Without SKYPE this just wouldn’t be possible for her. Thanks to the wonders of technology,
it’s just like these students are physically in the room with me.” Forbsey sang her first radio commercial at age 11 and soon became one of the youngest session singers
on the professional recording circuit. Forbsey is an accomplished singer/songwriter, recorded her last
album (SONY/Mushroom) in London, has a gold record under her belt, and is regularly heard on radio and TV commercials such
as Coca Cola, McDonalds, Kleenex and Kelloggs, just to name a few. She has toured with Joe Cocker
and Take That, and was recently featured on a female compilation album – ALL THE SONG BIRDS, in the company of Aretha
Franklin, KD Lang, Carly Simon and Rickie Lee Jones.
